Year 6 pupils and above resident in the parishes of Goosnargh and Whittingham are eligible to register for this role. (See Parish Maps)

Once selected the Queen, supported by Senior and Junior Princesses, is crowned on Festival Day by the Retiring Queen and goes on to represent the Community in many ways throughout her reign.

We remain in touch with our past Queens and, in Guild Year 1992, no fewer than 25 former Queens joined us on Festival Day! In 2012 at our Diamond Jubilee and Preston Guild Festival 33 Queens were present, including Beryl Watkinson (1938)!

Selection is not competitive in any way. Names are drawn at our Selection Day Event by the retiring Queen.
